Strange question about rear axle ?

Ok so iv been doing some research and i cant find the answer. I have a 01 mountaineer sohc 4x4, The issue im having is there is an additional rear shock above the axle not counting the two typical shocks that are there. I called the dealership they are complete idiots apparently they dont have a "Detailed" diagram for the rear suspension for that model. The person i spoke to said the only thing he could find that he would consider the part im looking for is called a Transunion shock absorber mount which they dont even offer any more? He said to take it off bring it in and they can see what they can do, my whole issue is that if i take it off it might destroy it because it's rusty as hell and most likely wont go back on IF i cant even get a replacement for it.

So your just wanting to replace that 5th shock?

There are numerous threads on that shock here. Just keep digging around with the search feature, you will find everything you need to know in a couple minutes.
