Does anyone make a replacement bracket (the one that bolts the back to the body) for the gen 1 armrests? Mine is cracked on one side and the whole thing wobbles.
The replacement part you get from Ford has been improved over the original with a steel insert. Wait until you get the replacement to take the old one apart, it will come with directions on how to do that.
I went out to You Wrench It here in Virginia Beach and got one from a Bronco II. It seems more solid than the original one I had. My original armrest flexed when you put preasure on it and this one does'nt move at all. I only paid 4.50 for it. Maybe it was a new replacement, I don't know but for 4.50, you just cant beat it. They are selling on e-bay between 30 and 70 bucks.
