On the back of the console bracket the end that is closer to the back of the vehicle, is there a tab on the roof under the headliner that the end of the bracket slides under like on the front of it? Or does it just hang there. While I was installing the console I thought that it was kind of funny that that end just hangs there. And now that I'm done it occured to me that it's possible that there was a tab under there that it hooks into that I missed.

There's a slot in the body that the tab slides into.

I don't mean the front of the bracket. That tab is slid in. I mean the end of the bracket that the console screws into. Does it hang there or is there a tab under the headliner on the roof that it slides under?

If your '00 is like my '99, then the "tab" on the rear mounting bracket simply fits under the trim for the sunroof. Not sure if you have a sunroof. I do not know how it fits w/o one.
