Stuck in 4wd Low

Hey I have 1998 XL with 4wd. And for some reason it is stuck in 4wd Low. Any ideas on how to remedy this and what might be the problem?

You haven't said what all you've tried, so I'll post this: make sure you are in nuetral or park, or if you have a manual transmission depress the clutch before trying to get out of (or into) 4wd low.

he's got a newer explorer....the 4x4 system works different from the old ones.

I'd start by reseting the computer and checking the fuses. If that doesn't work then you may have a larger problem.

Turn the knob to other then 4x4 low and drive your truck in reveres fro about 5 to 10 feet. That will take you out of 4X4 low. At least that's how I do it!
