the hub is bolted to the knuckle with 3 bolts. are you just trying to pull if off the axle w/out unbolting it? once the bolts are removed it should almost fall off.

the hub is a hub assembly which incorporates the hub, abs sensor and bearings. (check RockAuto on-line for a picture of the assembly). there are no individually serviceable pieces.

Its all unbolted. I've been banging on it it all day and it is barely budging.

Assuming you have unbolted it, do you have a torch to heat up the hub? Also a big hammer might be needed there is probably a good amount of rust holding that in there. And last it doesn't look like you have used any penetrating oil like pb blaster that could help a lot. If you need any help shoot me a pm looks like you live pretty close to me I live off of Henderson and my parents live in worthington. I'd be more happy to help.

i'd be careful with that puller. while it's pulling on the hub it's also pushing on the axle. that's not good for the cv joints or diff bearings. the hubs shouldn't be that hard to get off. i removed them from a 2000 Mountaineer (with rust issues as it was a northern truck) a couple of weeks ago and w/penetrant had no problem at all getting them off by hand.

That's a slide hammer puller koda..shouldn't hurt the axle.

When I did my 95 I think I unhooked the lower ball joint and steering tie rod so I could get the shaft out then I beat from the back of it to get the bearing out.

I replaced the bearings on a 99 chevy 4x4 truck once for a guy.
One side went pretty easy..the other I beat and beat on that sucker..the bearing finally came out in pieces...what a nightmare that one side was.

alas i got it out! sat there and beat on it for an hour today with everything and said #### this got the angle grinder out and cut a deep slit in it and used a 3 foot pry bar and it came out like it wasnt a problem. there was a ton of rust behind there. Now my abs is working again :)

Good for you!
It don't take much to make the abs unhappy.

There should be some sort of crappy looking plastic washer looking thing to prevent water from getting in there. believe it or not it actually works, mine was still shiny new looking metal, but to be safe I put a layer or Marine Grease in there to keep it rust free. I had to use a torch on mine to get it out, the axle shaft came out easy, but the hub as a PITA, took a torch for a few second, and it fell right out. Glad you got it out, I know how much it sucks to have an ABS issue like that.
