stumble and die when shifting to drive

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Sometimes (not every time) when shifting from park to drive. Or reverse to drive or neutral to drive. My idel drops very low and the truck stumbles and will sometimes die unless I give it gas... any idea what this is? Or does this happen to anyone else. I thought it was just putting it into gear to fast but I try it slow too and it does the same..help?

In addition to my 2003 Limited, I have a 1993 Sport with the 4.0 v-6. My sport had those same symtoms as you described. What I found what my problem was, was the IAC (Idel Control Valve) was dirty. After I cleaned it, all the symptoms went away.
