when i bought my x it had a 2.25 inch magnaflow muffler welded onto the stock 2 inch pipes, it had great power and sounded okay but one day i was board and decided to start foolin with it , i ended up cutting everything after the cats off, i got a little more power out of it and it sounds incredible setting off car alarms and all

i havent had any problems with it or the police yet
but i feel it should exit in a better place, i went to an exhaust sop to get a straight running out to the rear, they did the poorest job the car sounded like the noise was bouncing out of a tin can, so i had them cut it off and refund my money.

if i try adding any pipe to it at all i get that stupid sound

if i keep running it like it is will it hurt the engine do to a lack of back pressure

if i invest in a nice aftermarke kit will it have tha stupid sound or not

thanks

Since you already have it, I'd put the Magnaflow 2.25" back on and get some custom 2.25" piping done to match. That's what I run on mine. It is illegal to run without a muffler and exit under the truck, esp in CA, so I'd go with that option, it'll cost under $40. Since everything will be matched, you'll have more power than before, but enough backpressure to keep things happy. It won't be nearly as loud, but will sound better. If you want it loud, look into a Flowmaster.

But IMO you should run a proper muffler and tailpipe, there's no reason not to.

not to mention that their is a reason for the law that states that the exhaust must exit behind the passenger area. The reason is because of CO. With it exiting right under your vehicle, you have a good chance of the exhaust fumes going into your vehicle which is full of CO. you have heard or people trying to kill themselves by parking their garage with the door closed and the engine running. The reason for this is because the CO will kill you. When the CO gets in your vehicle and you get a large enough accumulation it will do stuff to you. It could eventually cause you to pass out which could lead to an accident. If you dont get in an accident then you could die of the poisoning. Just pipe it out with a decent muffler. Somewhere on the internet there is a testing of mufflers and there is one(forgot which one) that allows the same amount of flow as a straight pipe
