exhaust tip stupid Q

i wan't a nice exhaust tip for my 96 X. does anyone know the diameter that i am looking for that i can bolt on. i tried measuring the tip on my x but i still am not sure the size i would need to cover it. it is a stock size outlet.

I dont know what yours may be, but just measure the diameter of the pipe and get a tip that is about 1/8" or larger than that.

i dont think the exhaust pipes are different between the years and enignes but i have a tip that fits up to a 2.5" and its 2.5". i can get a pic if ya want.

Your stock tail pipe is 2.25" dia.

Yup, get a tip that fits pipes up to 2.5" and it'll fit fine
