Hello all~
I have a 1994 explorer XL, 4X2 5 speed manual. 140,000 wonderful (ha) miles on it. I've been through this piece and through it repairing crap and still come up with more problems than I started with. Anywhoo it's runnin great now but it has a bad pull to the right.
I have been told by several shops that the rear end is bend by about 1/4 a degree, which is fine by me which will allow for a small pull, but here is the kicker. When I hit the brakes, the front end dips to the right and she really pulls hard to the right. A little bit of offness in the rear frame cannot cause this. A shop by me told me before my front right side is sagging by 1" more than the left. Would I need a set of coil springs on the front to correct this? Here is what I have done: (sigh)
New calipers both sides, new rotors and pads, bearings, new ball joints, new outer tie rod ends, new radius arm bushings, new shocks... I'm sick of tracing this pulling problem but as each day I drive it goes by it gets worse. Anyone with any ideas let me know, thanks!
George
