if you are getting those for free, then go for it....it looks like the amp is going to be a little weak, but probably will do the job....is this your first setup?

Yeah this will be my first set up. Never have had something like this before. My old GTP had a factory bose set up with a amp but i never touched it.

I already have the sub and amp now. I just really didnt know if it would work. And where else i should go?

it really depends on what you are looking for out of a system (boombing bass or just a little something to give some deep sounds). that setup you have will be fine for filling in the deep sounds, but not a lot more than that. if you are sure that you want a system, i would say to install it, and see how it is...if you dont like it, you'll have all the wiring done and you can put something else in its place.

i have bought all my sound equipment off of Craigslist. you can get some really good deals there! i am currently running:

Polk DB212-2 http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products/recent/db212/)

MTX TE801D http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/TE801D.cfm

MTX TE604 http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/TE604.cfm

i pieced this together over time for about $350 off of craigslist.

i really enjoyed trying different setups, i started with 2 old jl 10's with a crappy box and a crappy amp....i just kept upgrading from there until i got exactly what i wanted.
try installing what you got in the explorer and see what it sounds like....if it sounds decent, use it for a while until you can upgrade.

just dont go out to best buy and spend a fortune on some overpriced equipment. its not worth it....you can get way more bang for your buck at other places!
