As soon as i start the car, the sub pops for just a second. Never more until i turn the car off, pause for about 5 seconds then pops as i'm getting out of the car.

I've been told:
that this may be the head unit getting rid of the "excess"...

may be the rca cables....

it's normal...

No other car that i have ever ridden in does this. It's NOT normal...Of course i am kind of a moron when it comes to all this audio business. Though i was very proud of myself after i installed everything after about 2 hours, and 6 beers...

that sounds kind of wierd, but i belive it is just the headunit releasing excess because when i first started to install my system i hooked the remote turn on wire into the wrong wire and got constant power from the battery to my amps and when the car was off it made the subs pop. know that i have it hooked up right when i turn off my car it just beeps three times.

my subs did that too with this 4500 series pioneer head unit that i had swapped from like three different cars over the years. i guess it got wore out because it poped for about two weeks before i went to a car audio store and they told me that the preamptive outputs were fried which is why it did that. and mine kind of scared me though because can you imagine no knowing what the hell makes your subs do that and when you have 6-12s in the back it is a very loud pop or boom should i say ha ha.

Killer- That might be my problem having the remote hooked up wrong. Now that i think about it, my amp stays on with the vehicle off. Must be the remote. What was yours originally hooked into and which wire did you run it to to fix it?

yours must be hooked to a constant power as of now. you'll want to hook it to the remote turn on wire on your head unit. that way the amp will only be on when the head unit is on
