This should elimate the constant posts about subwoofer recommdations. No need to flame or post other things just put your suggestion on size, type and why. So others can read for info.

I use audiobahn because of the price, rms ratings and look.
and i also use 12's because i can't afford anything bigger. :)
Good for those in a limited range of $

I got 2 12in Aluminum Eclipse's.. I think they were 350 each, it was a long time ago... But I love em, great sub!

2 Rockford Fosgate 3410's powered by a MTX 4250D, the subs box is small enough that the cargo cover works, they provide good sound and get loud enough to impress/annoy people.
If my current setup was ever stolen i'd buy the same subs and amp again.

I've got 3 12" Audiobahn ALUM12Qs, powered by an Audiobahn A2200HCX amp... Bought the subs because I was looking for a good combo of SQ and SPL for a reasonable price (JL W7s are NOT reasonable!), and Audiobahn has a great reputation...

3 12" Kicker 2003 model CVR's........pretty good sub for price, DVC, mine are wired at 2 ohm's and they BANG!

2 Crossfire BMF 15"s runniong off 4 Rockford Fosgate 225.2s. Hits 154.9 db on the dash

I run 2 10" Rockford Fosgate PunchZs in a sealed box, of an Alpine V12 150w Mono Amp.

The setup was not that expensive.. the subs were $100 for both, the box $50, and the amp $200. I don't need to win competitions, and i sometimes need to remove the subs for cargo. #1 - It sounds great, but it also impresses the friends, and gives one heck of a back massage crancked up!!

I use 2-12" Kicker Comp VR's, (2002 model?) they were $175 shipped for the 2 and I like they way they pound and they make a good impression on people that hear them and the price was great.

image dynamics v2 10" in custom stealth box with jbl 300.1 amp. total cost: $175 :D

Have a JL10W6 right now run by a Rockford 500a2 amp. I'm a big fan of SQ and I listen to a variety of music so I went with a decent sub and a small size. This sub doesn't have the best SQ though, so I'm gonna try the Eclipse SW8102 because 1) It'll actually handle all of my amp and 2) I've heard great reviews about the SQ of Eclipse stuff.

in the explorer
right now i have an Audiobahn 1208Q in a large vented enclosure (2.9 cuft, tuned to 35 Hz).

in my mazda 626
i have a Blueprint 1503 in a sunken fiberglass enclosure where the spare tire used to be.

ive never seen subwoofers mounted upside down before. are they made just for that or will any work that way. can someone give me info on this, and why its done like that.

1 12" Sony Xplod and 300w amp.

Why? Because we like you.
M-I-C Seeya later...OOPS, got a little sidetracked there.

Why? Because the little lady doesn't want it too bling-bling since she drives it too.

You can do that with any sub, you just have to wire them backwards (connect the negative line from the amp to the positive line on the sub and vice versa).

It is done like that to make the sub perform as if it is in a slightly larger box, since you no longer have to subtract the displacement of the sub from the box. It's good for low-end response.

I have 2 Audiobahn AW1251Q subs. I bought them because they are about the cheapest price for the RMS rating. I am going to add 2 more because they aren't hitting as loud as those $350 Eclipse subs =P

Okay, I see a lot of people mentioning SPL and lots of bang, this, that and the other thing.

What about TONE? Any pos can move air, ( hell my butt moves air every now and then ) what about correctly reproducing the appropriate frequencies and sounding good and correct?

I am still running my factory sub, but I am lookin' to up grade before too long so I am reading this post with full intent to learn.

TONE = SQ (sound quality)

I talked about a couple great subs for that application a few posts up. I've heard nothing but good SQ from both JL subwoofers and Eclipse subwoofers. Just be sure to have the correct amount of power or even the best of subs will still sound like SH*T.

I am running an Audiobahn 10" sub in a ported enclosure. Ive got an Audiobahn 1200 watt amp pushing it. I bought an Audiobahn becuase, well, Audiobahn is fricking awesome. The setup I have leans toward SPL, but also is quite clean and has decent SQ.
