I have just purchased the hidden, powered, amplified antenna from crutchfield. I was thinking of placing it either right against the window and the dash or under the dash by the glove compartment (both valid options according to crutchfield). Due to the fact that I need 12 V Power, does anybody have any suggestions to where I should tap into the 12 V Power and where I should ground it?

Grounding is simple. Any place you have metal would be a ground connection. As for the power connection, I would suggest that you connect it to something which is ignition powered only. A constant power connection could be made just as long as you know it is not going to drain the battery when it's not being used. It must have a fuse with the correct rating. It might need a relay depending upon the current draw. A relay wouldn't be used if it only requires a small amount of current. A relay could be added to make it ignition controlled. You will need to check the wiring color codes. Autozone has color codes on their website.

hidden power antenna? I've never heard of this b4. Let me know how it works. I'd like to use it on my daughters power wheels Escalade.

Just finished, I put it under my glove compartment, and used a screw as a ground and tapped into the 12V by the front cigar lighter. Nonetheless, All the wires are hidden behind the center console and glove compartment, its pretty much invisible and makes the 4th gen look much cleaner without that goofy antenna.

I got the antenna from crutchfield, if you guys are interested

could you explain the 'tapped in to the 12V by the front cigar lighter' part more? I need to do something similar for an FM modulator and haven't done much wiring before.

I removed the center console and bezel, and found the wires to my Front 12 V Cigar Adapter. I used a Voltage tester to see which one of the wires was the 12 V (The red wire on the 06 Model) and I stripped about 2 cm of the wire and connected my 12 V wire from my hidden antenna. I then crimped it and it was all set to go, but keep in mind that one of the reasons this was ok was because the hidden antenna does not require too much power to be amplified; I am not sure how much power your FM Modulator will need.

Good Luck
