Well, I'm happy with the mods I've made so far. Air shocks, wheels, tires , Modified air box, cat-back and last but not least the Blue Flash Superchip. My 4.0L SOHC is humming now. I read this page pretty regular, so I have a feel for what works for this engine and what doesn't work, but I want to list what is left and get any response from any experienced owner that may have a strong feeling one way or the other about the possible mods for my 4.0L SOHC with 9k for milage.

1) Bosch Plat. 4 plugs and splitfire wires:
Is this worth putting on with only 9K miles on OEM stuff?
2) JACOBS ignition package, add reads good..., but has anyone really gained from this?
3) Ganatelli Mass Air Flow Sensor. Anyone gotten any worth-while gain with this?
4) Larger Throttle Body? I'm not sure there is one...
5) A 3.92 rear end (I have a 3:73 right now with Auto trans.)

So if any of you have experience or strong opinions on any of these mods, please let me know so I can narrow down my next endeavor.

I'm not going to consider headers because I got my exhaust/back pressure just right for that low end torque I like.
Thanks in Advance, if I can help anyone with the few successful mods I've done so far, just ask..Robert

Robert,

-IMO, the ignition mods will not help you very much at this point. With only 9k miles, your stock plugs should still be in very good shape, as are your plug wires and ignition system.
-The MAS might help, and it might not. Some members have had good luck with them, and some didn't see any gains. I don't think you should replace it, as it flows a lot more air than people think.
-As far as I know, there is not a replacement TB for the SOHC.
-A lower ratio (higher number) rear end will actually hurt your mileage. This is because your engine will be at higher RPMs for the same speed. Higher RPMs burn more fuel. Also, I haven't heard of 3.92 gears for the 8.8" rear end. Above 3.73 would probably be 4.10. The taller gears would help accelleration, though.

Sorry, but there's not as much out there for the SOHC as the OHV. But, you did start off with 50 more horses. Just think, with your 3 power mods and under $600, you have as much power as I had with 5 mods and $1600+. If you have some extra $$$, put it into the sound system, or save it for when the supercharger comes out for the SOHC (if it ever does).
