Ok, Last weekend me and my buddy put this kit on, in the instructions it said for the 4 1/2 use the top holes on the drop brackets for the axle, ok, so that's what we did. Well I take it to go get an alignment yesterday at a shop that specializes in odd ball jobs, well I get a call back saying that he thinks the bolts are in the wrong holes for this bracket due to the camber being way off, more than he could posiblly adjust, so he wants to move them, well, I told him to do whatever to make right, so he did that and also replaced ball joints (175k on the originals:D ) so get it back today and thats where they are in the bottom mounts on the two superlift drop brackets, Did I read the instructions wrong (unfortunetly my buddy threw them away right afterwords) is the allignment shop wrong or did the place I buy the lift kit from screw up and give me 5 1/2 inch kit???? the alignment shop said it aligns perfectly now and the camber is dead on, it drives good to so I think the did what was right with what I had but I just confused on what to do next?

Well Superlift doesn't make a 4 1/2" lift for starts. Second, 4" springs will take a while to settle to 4". I bet in 6 months you'll be back at the shop and they'll have to put them in the other holes.

The Superlift brackets (well mine did) came with 2 sets of holes. One was for the 4.5 and the other for the 5.5. (according to my instructions) Why? I am not sure to be honest. Sounds like you used the right holes, and the shop moved it to the 5.5. If everything works fine, you just got an extra inch. I am not sure why they even offer a 4.5 (nor have I seen it for sale), especially if all your shop did was move it to the other holes and got you another inch. :D lol

Hi guys new to the site.
I'm still installing my 4" superlift with super runner system. Had problems with the coil springs they gave me the wrong ones?? Superlift is sending new ones. I don't think SL makes a 4.5" lift 4" or 5.5".

Have many of you had problems with superlift products??

Hmmm... I bet anything that's what happened to mine, how did you know they were the wrong ones?
If that's the case, since my front is done, they can swap my back springs to 5 1/2 since that is easy.

the 5.5" superlift for an explorer doesnt give you new rear springs like the 4" does.... they have you put on some brackets and do a spring over axle setup using your original rear leafs....

How do I tell if I have 4 or 5 1/2 coils, If I droop the suspension can I mesure them to find out?
I dont mind having the extra inch in front, but I want it to be level, I havent meassured the front / rear yet but it does look like the rear sits a little lower, even when I did it and used the 4" holes it looked like the rear still sat a little lower, like maybe they truley are the wrong coils.

Here's what I would do. Get a real loud bull horn. Take it to the shop and say real loud "eek:

What the???

Is all that dododo **** absolutley necessary?
Please don't take up that much space.

if you measure your new coil springs from Superlift with a load on them they should be 15 5/16" from top of coil to bottom of coil. Mind was 13 5/8" so that's why Superlift is sending me new ones. If you measure them right out of the box for a 4" lift I believe Tech support told me they should be 19 1/4" long. I hope this helps you. Try calling the Tech line at Superlift they seem to know what their talking about.
