Installed Superchip today, and boy were you guys right! Bottom end isn't much different, but that immediate kickdown to 2nd is awesome! And I'm still burning 3/4 of a tank of 87 with no knocks-so far so good. Luckily, no jumper soldering needed (code CED3). As some of you have mentioned, the chip does prevent the computer housing from completely butting up against the firewall (about 1/4" out) but some weatherstripping ("give her a hug!"*) should do the trick. Took 8 days to get it from Smartyparts @ $175. Recommended!!

Greg, I ran into the same problem fitting the PCM back in the housing after the chip was on. I didn't like the way the mounting bracket fit on the engine side of the PCM, so I knocked out the brace on the rear passenger side of the housing. It's only plastic on mine, and I only had to modify it enough to clear the chip on the back of the PCM. Once it was done, everything mounted up like it did before the chip.
