I bought one of these because it was supposed to be able to adjust my speedometer with the gear changes I did as well as the bigger tires.
Well, it could do none of this. I worked with their tech support and found that basically all they advertise was not available for the 4.0 SOHC .. so word of warning here .. it flat does not work with our engines in the Gen II's.
The one tech said there was a completely different map for the Sport trak v/s the Sport 2dr .. which to me really didn't make sense.
So I returned the unit back to Superchips. I had to put back my original engine 'map' and send it back. I did all this but now I'm getting a check engine light which is to do with one my catalytic banks not working up to snuff.
Yesterday my 4wd would not switch in or out of 4wd .. got home and it worked fine. Then my door lock on my driver side stopped working .. but then started working again .. today I rolled my window down .. and it won't go back up! WTF! Did Superchips load me up with a virus?? Sure seems that way after having the car for 13 years with 203K on it .. in the time I had it before Superchips it never ever threw a code!!! Coincidence?

None of that is related to the programmer except a very remote chance it was just enough to finish off a very close to failing cat.

Sorry for the delayed response but the site was down. And in the mean time I got the window/door thing fixed .. it was worn parts .. and a transfer case service fixed the other problem. The cat thing though, that never happened before. I took my exhaust from the headers back and replaced 4 cat's and two mufflers with 2 1/2" pipe into a Magnaflow Sport cat and a Magnaflow muffler .. all the sensors were put into appropriate bungs .. had to pass emissions and did so much better then with the old system .. even a number of years back!

Well, my outcome is better at the moment. The Ford failed emissions, they couldn't even see the computer. Local Ford Dealer wouldn't reprogram my ECM .. car was too old and too many miles .. found a shop that did reprogramming and that finally got my back to normal .. sofar. I redid the emissions and passed this time. The guy that redid my ECM said it was like it had been hacked or a virus left behind .. he basically re-formatted the ECM and the re-programmed it. So whatever the Superchip Flashpaq left behind was not the stock info that it recorded initially. Funny part here is that once reprogrammed it was like I was driving a different car! Idle was better, shifted better, and felt like I had more power .. all the things the Flashpaq was supposed to do. Now to see what they will pay for. They already said they would pay for the reprogramming ... but I lost my 4wd motor and switch .. one maybe, but both? Tranny shop and my shop say good chance the computer fail also caused this.
