I have a 99' 4x4 X and I'm getting the Superlift 4'' lift and putting 33'' bfg's on it. I was wondering has anybody heard anything bad about this lift or has had any problems with it?

From all I have heard this lift is the superior of the 2 which I know of being available. Trailmaster also offers a four inch lift kit, but go with the superlift as it is a bit stronger.

I am envious though as I really really want the kit!!!!!

Do you think the 33 will clear without much trimming? I have been wondering whether I will end up keeping the TT and shackles to clear the 33 or drop it to a 32.

Check the suspension and lifts forum for more info.

i'm really interested in either the 4" trailmaster or superlift. how do you guys think lift look like with the stock 255/10/16's on? it shouldnt look that bad untile i get bigger 32s or something because they are roughly the size of 31s. any have pics? that's be awesome.

I have the Trailmaster lift, but with also a 3" body lift. I like the Trailmaster kit. I mean, there are little things that I would of changed if I would of engineered it, but not everything can be perfect. Your front stock crossmember will have to be banged in to make room for the front differential, I doubt superlifts system has a remedy for that. But thats the biggest change I had to do on the Trailmaster lift. Reason I went with the Trailmaster lift was cause I got it for Extremely cheap. I believe I got it for 650 shipped! It was brand new as well and had everything I needed. I have heard that superlift makes a better steering knuckle for the explorer, so theres a perk. Hope this helps!

The 4" superlift is a nice lift kit but the only thing I don't like about the lift kit is how it adds a bar across the front crossmember to reduce your approach angle. If you want to squeeze 33s, just consider getting the 3" body lift.. Its an easier approach and cheaper. I personally have the 3" body lift along with many others and I believe most ppl prefer the body lift due to cost & ease of installation.
