So i just took my stock 93 explorer mud slingin for the first time this week and was very impressed. I take it that it has a limited slip rear dif. because both tires are spinning in the mud, so thats a cool thing....and before this truck was passed down to me by my dad i though it had a solid front axel but i got it up on a lift and the front is independant front suspension through long trailing arms (sorry if im not using the correct terms) as opposed to other styles of IFS that use lower A arms and upper control arms....anyways i was thinking it would be possible to get longer travel this way, also the rear shock have a nice mounting position because they are both mounted behind the axel and tilt slightly inward wich to my knoledge helps with body roll and keeping your wheels planted to the ground under tight turns.does anyone else find this as cool as i do??.....

ANYways, enough rambling...
who makes a good suspension lift kit to get like 4-5" lift up front? I've been looking at the tough country EZ ride standard lift kit and then doing a leaf over axel kit for the back...and then im going to stick some bigger tires on it, somewhere along the line of like 31x10.5 on a 17" wheel because i gotta keep this ting a daily driver as well, i dont wanna go super crazy with my tires. Im mainly going to be doing some mud slingin and driving trails with some easy to moderate rock crawling type of stuff...but i want tough because i like going fast through trails and mudholes...

does anyone have another recomendation for a lift as far as another company? or an opinion on the tough country one?

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND TAKING THE TIME TO READ ALL MY TALKING

i think 5" is going to be a little too much lift for only 31's. maybe 4" wouldn't look too bad but its a possibility the tires will look too small. 3" of lift doesn't look bad with 31's so maybe 4" would still look ok. but u might be able to fit 31's without any lift at all. quite a few people can. some without trimming and some with minor trimming. depends on how much your springs have sagged. not too sure on the best lift but if u want more flex and a better ride extended radius arms are the way to go. find out what gears u have stock. check the tag on the rear diff or the axle code on the sticker inside the door... come here and find out what gears the code is for... is yours an auto tranny or manual?
