I am relatively new to the forum and fixed most issues by searching the posts. Within the last several months I have replaced all shocks, RA bushings, radiator, AC compressor, rebuilt the tranny, MAF and PCM,completely removed all seats, carpets and interior trim to do a complete detailing of it. All of which the information and reccomendations were on this forum so i would not have to bother anyone.

You folks have excellent information and help and I thank you for it.

I have tried to look up the problem that i am having now but am sure excatly what to search for. I have searched extensively under all types of problems.

The problem that i currently have is a shake from side to side/lateral movement when going over small bumps like speed bumps, small holes, dips etc.... To check it, while parked if i push on it from the side, it rocks without much effort and does so about 5 or six times slowly steadying out by aout the 6th time. I am not to familiar with suspension problems such as this. IF any one has any suggestions or help it would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks, roger

Part of this side to side motion is attributed to tires .. I think some people have said they witness such a behavior from Goodyear tires.

Thanks for the reply,

i have BF goodrich on it now. I did find a suggestion of removing one of the leaf springs from the pack in order to soften the ride and correct some of the side to side rocking. Any one know if this is a viable solution, will it cause any problems with carrying a load? Could the problem be the leaf spring pack itself is just tired or lost its arch?

Well when you push on the vehicle while its standing still and it oscillates side to side, look at the suspension, is it moving at all relative to the chassis? Or is the movement mostly on the tires?

sorry it took so long to reply.

it appears that it is chasis moving more than the tires. the bottom leaf spring is not arched up, but straight, is that normal? Would a helper spring help?

how do you get email notifications when someone reponds to a post?
