When i hit bumps i hear a squeaking in the right front. Could this be the shock which i'm replacing soon or something more serious? Also, when i'm turning in my driveway and turn left going of the bump i hear a different deeper squeak from the same area.

it may be a loose sway bar end link, mine was loose and everytime i hit a bump it made a sound like a chain was hitting the ground. I dont know exactly what your sound is but just to throw out some ideas

Also could be shock mount, ball joint, A-Frame bushing, body mount, etc...

depends on the type of squeak....as funny as that sounds.

is it like a rattling (like a fast, chirpy)squeak or is it a stroking (like a longer, scraping) squeak?

Daniel

ok, thanks. i'll definitely try it.

it's a chirpy squeak. the bumps are the only thing that causes it. slow or fast, it's the same.

Than if its coming from the front, it sounds like a body mount, radiator mount, maybe a loose bolt somewhere allowing a small amount of movement...

Also possible its the D35(front end)mount bushings....but thats less likely. Been there done that they drove me crazy.

Also could be a shock mount, but its most likely not in the suspension, because its fast chirpy no matter how fast or hard you hit the bumps.

Daniel

i'll take a look at it when i get a chance and let you know.

My Explorer started squeaking once. It would do it when I hit bumps and when I turned left and right. I called and spoke with a tech at the local for dealership and he said that it was the lower balljoint hands down.

I replaced the lower balljoint and he was right!

i took a look at it and didn't see any loose bolts or anything. i could hear the noise coming from the suspension as i took a closer look. i decided to spray some wd 40 on some of the joints and that did the trick.

Good deal!

Just remember that later down the road and replace the ones that were squeaking when you can, once they get dry enough to squeak, theyll wear faster.

Glad it want anything serious.

Its so hard to troubleshoot things like that when you cant be there to hear it for yourself :D

i'll add that to my list of things to do on the x. thanks again for the help.
