Swallowed up by a sink hole.

Now mind you this isn't me but I thought it was good when I saw the pics.

A few guys were out wheeling last night and were running through some flats when a sinkhole jumped out and bit them. They were up on top of a mountain and they had some buddies supposedly go for help but none arrived. So around 2 am they hiked 5 miles in bear country until they could get cellular signal and call for help. Oh and I believe the jeep has a winch on the front but that did no good with nothing to anchor to. here is a few of the pics

and after the jeep was pulled out it looks harmless again

And here's the two stand up guys that came to their rescue when a call was recieved at 4 am in the morning. One drove over 1.5 hrs to lend a hand.

My friend and I were out last week exlorering some state land and that's the kind of thing I was worried about. He decided he didn't want to tag team and just ride along so when we came to something that I wasn't 100% sure about I made him get out and check. We came to some water which looked something kind of like that, harmless, and I made him check the depth so we woudln't get stranded. That kind of stuff worries me. Sure I'll get out in the end, but not being able to get home will piss me off, frustrate me, just make me not want to do it again. We got lost and went all around as far as we could in all good fun with no troubles. I think what got us through was that I wasn't driving a Heeeppp

Jack, you're back!!! i would have noticed earlier but i've been in skagway for the last week (hiking the chilkoot trail)....sink holes like that suck though, looks like a cool place though. gotta love ak.

funny story, but today i almost when in a sink hole but this one was in a parking lot and in the pouring rain.... this is the 2nd one this week, damn rain,

don't think they make a lift big enough for that. Yet another reason I tend to be weary of water holes, that and my MAF always seems to get wet.
