I just finished swapping an M5OD into my 94 Explorer in place of the A4LD that recently died. I kept the original EEC computer and installed the clutch 3-function switch to replace the original jumper and wired 33 ohm resistors in place of the shift solenoids. Now the engine isn't running very well and I'm getting a CEL, plus a bunch of "out of range" or "signal high" codes that involve the IAT(113), ECT (118), TPS (123), and EVP sensor (334), plus a fuel pump code (542). I don't know if I knocked out a wire somewhere, left a ground disconnected, just connected something wrong, or what. Unfortunately, I don't have a 94 EEC schematic and could really use one! I have a good 92 EEC schematic, but I know the changes between the model years were significant, and it's not helping me much.

fordcds.com has downloadable CDs that have all of the wiring diagrams. That should help you significantly.

Thanks for the reply. I checked out fordcds.com and it seems that the site is not working. Did some searching around and found forddvds.com, which appears to have replaced it. I'm in the process of downloading the 93-94 manual, but for some reason BitTorrent says I have another 14 days to go before it's done. Download speed is spiking at only 1k/sec! I've never used BitTorrent before, and I don't know how to speed things up. The BitTorrent web site says something about making my stuff available to other users in order to make for faster downloads, but I don't really understand what they mean by this.

An update: I ran across a 94 manual tranny computer at the junkyard, so now I'm good.

Finally got the shop manual as well. Took several days, though.
