i have a 2nd gen with a tortion twist and 2'' shackles. i put 31x11.50x15's on the stock rims and they rub like a motherf***er in reverse and drive. apparently its rubbing on the sway bar. what can i do? can i relocate the sway bar or bend it in some way? me and 2 others spent an hour trying to decide a plan of action. i cant get rid of the sway bar, we've ruled that one out. my only ideas are getting wheel spacers but ive heard so much negative feedback on those. some people say they havent been affected at all others say it will break everything all the way back to the ford factory.

if i did use spacers it would have to be like 3/4'' or 1'' i think. cause the tires are kelly safari awr's. they bulge out on the sides.

No way to bend the sway bar- its spring steel. My tires rubbed my sway bar but only at full lock, I just let them polish that little spot on the bar for me. ;)

Wheel spacers will add extra stress to the wheel bearings, and the front track width already looks wider than the back, they would only make it worse.

mine rub before i max out. i can barely get 3/4 turn on the wheel before it rubs in reverse. i dont know why it always rubs more in reverse.

the main problem is that i need to get an alignment but no shop will do it because they have to warranty the job and they told me if the tires rub they cant get an accurate reading or some bs like that on the machine and therefore the alignment will not be true.

me either until today. is there any other way to stop the rubbing besides a solid axle swap. maybe someone knows of a sway bar relocation bracket i can buy or something

8" wheel with a little less backspacing
