Switching from regular to automatic climate control. Is this possible?

In a 3rd Gen Explorer, Can you put a automatic climate control in a Explorer that came with the regular climate control? I would like to put a automatic climate control in my 02 XLT. Is this possible?

Sure. Anything is possible.

Is it financially practical? That's another story.

As bad as the swap is in a gen II, it's much worse in a gen III.

I concur. There have been several threads about doing the swap. The concensus is that it is not worth the time, effort, and money required to pull it off.
