Have been trying to reprogram a replacement used APIM from ebay using Forscan and As built file from Ford. Using free extended license. Forscan looks like it is writing my as built file but nothing changes after radio restart.

Is it an issue with the Ford as built file format or file extension?

Has the process changed since a few years ago? Can't find much if any info.

Did I get a wrong unit? The replacement turns on and radio plays.

Should I stop wasting my time and buy a pre programmed one?

Did you try a master reset?

No way I can do one bc I can not seem to load my asb file into the new unit. Nothing works on the screen of the new unit and I can not use any of the buttons to even GET to the reset screen.

Any update on this Juan?

I have replaced a APIM module twice(pre-programed ebay)the seller promised it was 100% plug and play he was baffled with the issue I am having...both modules did the same thing...also did master reset to no avail.. and have an issue with trying to program the back up camera coz it's showing objects on the opposite side of the screen...I been trying to search through forscan and also trying to find to see how to get it corrected..I did locate the rear camera on forscan but the only adjustment was for US or European and no calibration in that section My thought is it has to be in a diff section of forscan my other thought is maybe replacing the camera to see if it is defective not sure if this module needs an update to it or if it's even avail I have noticed that there is many options for programming for ford trucks but haven't found much for the explorer..or even trying to find a good build sheet I found one but it looks like only a partial of one I would be more than happy to send it to you if you want to see it
Let me know what you figured out It would be nice to find someone that knew more about this to help us out
I am going to play with forscan some more and look around
