Hi,

I have an XLT and plan to either use a USB thumb drive or a SD Card for MP3 storage.
My preference is the SD Card, since it looks better than having a USB thumb drive that gets in the way.

My questions are:
how does the SD Card work for MP3 playback?

What file structure is supported?
I usually go with \Band_Name\Album_Name\Song_Name.mp3
Will this work?

thanks,

I've yet to try an SD card, but I'm using the file structure you referenced with a USB thumb drive and it works fine.

I went with the thumb drive because I don't think you can install SYNC apps with an SD card, my understanding was this is only done thru USB. On that note, I don't think we'll see much in the line of upgradable apps so it's probably not even relevant.

thanks for the reply cryptiq.

I called Ford Sync support, and found out the following too.

1. the USB port only supports USB thumb drives. (up to 32GB)
2. the SD Card slot, supports SD Cards, and is only used for transferring pictures....for all non-navigation Explorers.
