OK guys, I know this is an Explorer forum, but ... Most of the Sync forums seem to suck really badly, and I see there is a Ford IVT tech here, so I'll ask here and see what I get..
Bought wife a used 2009 Taurus X. Very nice car, and the basic Sync seems to work well for simple Bluetooth stuff, but I'd like to update it. I entered the VIN info into SyncMyRide.com, and it came up with a verified Sync update for the VIN going back to 2008. I know there have been several updates to Gen1 since then.
The problem is that the site says her vehicle is up to date at Gen1 - v1.1. There's no way. I've found several other forum posts where people have updated the 2008/2009 Taurus X to v2.0, 2.1, 2.3, etc. so obviously the update exists.
I cannot find how or where I can get the update files if Ford won't show that there is an available update to her car.
Does anyone know how I can force the Ford site to show the other updates? Is there another place where I can download the update ZIP files?
