Well, its that time for me. I get to replace the TC. My 97 has gone almost as far as its going to go on this one (BW4405, F77A-GA). I have a couple Q's, if i may...

Has anyone dealt with RMP Powertrain Solutions? I have talked to them over the phone and both guys I talked to seemed to be knowledgeable and courteous.
Secondly, the reman'd TC does not come with sensors or shift motor. Does anyone have on hand a list of misc parts I should be collecting (sensors, shift motor, gaskets, etc.)? Should I even consider using the sensors from the old TC? Or, should I go to pull-a-part and pull a handfull of everything, or just go to my autoparts retailer of choice and order them new?
I have pulled the TC once before when I did my tranny swap... but Im far from being confident at the moment. Is there any words of wisdom from the wise you can offer?

Update... i will be using the sensors and shift motor from my old TC, I'll see how it goes.
So far Im very impressed with RMP. I ordered the TC Thrus and they called me Fri afternoon and said it was ready to be picked up. The proof will be in the pudding though.
Does anyone know off hand what the fluid capacity is for the 4405? I read the sticky on how to fill it, just not sure how much to have on hand.

Just a quick keep tranny fluid out of your face idea jack the back of the car up in the air. It keeps the Tranny fluid in the tranny. Fill the T-case on the ground then you will know it has the proper amount of fluid plus your not filling it under the car which is no fun. I just got done replacing mine on my 98 I believe it takes around 2 quarts but if you fill it on the ground you will know its full.

Thanks for the tips!
Did you just use the shift motor and sensors from your old TC on the new one?

I actually got lucky the one I put in had a shift motor on it and the sensors. Best thing to do it make sure everything matches up, I know those shift motors are very sensitive to the position they are in so when taking it off be very carefull not to spin the motor.

well, the reman'ed tc is in... and all is well. my wallet is still in shock, but im not worried about walking home anymore. I ended up just using my old sensors and shift motor. I cleaned up the rust a bit and wiped all the gunk and goo off the sensors. Seems to be good so far.
I can't say enough good about RMP. Those guys were awesome. Great customer service and sincerely nice folks. I would recommend them to anyone.
