Do the dash indicator lights (not on button but on dash) have any signal for a problem on a 1st generation. For one I am often times having to smack the shift motor to make it engage but this is unrelated.

However when in 4lo the "low range" indicator on the dash has been flickering and at times when I get on the throttle it then lights up. Is it just a bulb or is my truck possible just on the edge of being engaged? I know for certain that it is in low when I am driving it.

Any ideas

and I just sold my parts truck!!!!!!

thats T case related .... flashing lights... usually say T case...

like if both lights stay on..... or they flash... or they stay on while disengaged.... i froget what exactly each one means..... but the lights could very well be going bad also... :D

Thanks a bunch man. I can't figure out why I can't get any other responses around here now that I have tranny trouble and searches are bringing me empty results for my symptoms.

just check your fluids... t case etc.... look for metal peices or whatnot on the plug.... sometimes they just do it after a long hard wheelin.... just give every a good shot of grease or wd 40 .... you should be fine...
