'97 Explorer XLT
Hello-

I know this is probably a matter of taste, but I was wondering what color of tail light assembly most would recommend for a two tone (white top, tan bottom, stock color scheme) 97 explorer XLT. I know there are carbon, clear, and black options. I was hoping to find photos of these lights (ICPW brand) on a white explorer. If anyone would like to post some, that would be great. Thanks

Okii

Also, any recommendations on a billet grille replacement. I see some nice looks on some of the photos, but I'm not sure how much modifications are necessary to install these. I would rather replace the existing grille, not overlay it with the billet grille. Thanks.

I personally like simple, and the clear look to blingy to me. I would go with the carbon fiber ones. You could get the black ones, open em up, and paint them two tone to match the color of your truck. Might be cool. It is not hard to get the lens off the tail light. Totally up to you. I have a bachelors degree in fine arts and design if that makes you feel any more confident in my suggestion, but my vote is to customize em and paint em up.

look on ebay you will find ones that are clear, red, clear, that is what I have and they look awesome!

i wish i would have got those, i got the all clear ones, hardly see the red bulb in my tail lights in the day time lol. they look cool tho since the truck is dark green. id stay away from the all clear ones.

I had the white lights on my 03 Focus and it looked good. I wanted to find clear taillights and third brake for it.

I'm a fan of opening the stockers and using nightshade to tiny them. Depending on how many costs you can go light or dark. The nightshade doesn't block much light and can see it through it pretty well. Have it on my focus and gonna be doing it on my x once I get around to ordering a van or two.
