Hey all....I just picked up a used 2001 Explorer XLT. I have an issue with the tailgate handle. It seems like it is not connected to anything. I removed the door panel to where I can see inside the actual tailgate. I can see the handle and there is nothing connected to it. One side of the handle has a hole, so apparently something should be connected to it. I can open the tailgate by opening the tailgate window, and then reaching inside and moving the rods so that the tailgate will open.
Can anyone help me out here, perhaps by knowing what should be connected to the handle, or maybe a diagram of the inside of the tailgate?
