curiosity question... i have a hi-flowMAF and cone filter, other than that, it is stock `94 xlt. it is a stock TB, and i was wondering if a TB spacer would provide noticable performance and/or mpg gains? and if so, how thick of a spacer?

also, i have a question on my gas milage. i used to get 17.5 -19 in town, and then one day it changed to average about 10.5 mpg and is still that. i have noticed that my tailpipe seems to char up all the time... i was wondering if this is normal, or not. also, how would i know if my FPR is failing to work? would this cause it?
thanx

Save up your mod money for a BBK TB and a chip.

And yes, your FPR probably went bad.

You can test your FPR by going to any auto parts store (I went to discount auto parts) and buy a fuel pressure checker.
It is a small guage with a tube and a bleed valve, you hook it up to your fuel rail. Pressure should be somewhere around 30-45 psi, I dont remember, but a haynes or chiltions will say.
Its not hard to do... good luck!

Hmmm, I guess in addition to the problems of my X with a coolant leak and needing a trans fluid change I guess I gotta replace a Fuel Pressure Releif. I'm guessing that's what FPR stands for right?

Fuel pressure regulator.
Mileage could be: thermostat..Oxygen sensors...plugs/wires.
At AutoZone & others they will read codes for you. That may indicate what to change. It gets sort of expensive doing the hit & miss way.
I put in a TB spacer and noticed nothing good or bad. I wouldnt do it again...
