So a guy I'm trying to help has a 3rd gen with traction control and he just changed the brake booster, but he is having problems with his cruise not working and a bunch of abs codes. I was thinking originally it was the pressure sensor on the master cylinder, but I think the pressure sensor was moved to the underside of the master cylinder on the traction control equipped models, unless the sensor looking thing on the bottom is a solenoid or something for the traction control. Either way, there's this thing on the front of the brake booster on the TC equipped ones that I assume is a vacuum pressure sensor? Can anyone confirm this? The one on his was wiggling around and had vacuum suck past the o ring on the back of it, causing a lean condition and weak booster/squishy brake pedal. Also, looking at it, it almost looks like maybe it would press in, turn, and lock similar to changing a headlight bulb or turn signal. Can anyone confirm? Also, anyone know the actual name of this thing and where to find a replacement?

Thank you. I really want to know what this thing is, what it does, and where to find one. There's no literature I can find on this and I feel bad for this guy.

What year is that piece? And what color are the wires going to the connector?

That's looking like the BRAKE BOOSTER SOLENOID used in electrical actuation of the brake system falling in the command hierarchy of the stability assist module.

But also looking at your codes, you may be wanting to look at the BRAKE PEDAL FORCE SWITCH...integral to the BRAKE BOOSTER, as is the solenoid. No parts listed.

Depending I suppose on the capabilities of your scantool, I think you should do the pin tests at the PEDAL FORCE switch first.

05 and unfortunately it's not my truck so I don't have access to look at it or do anything. I will do some research on what you said though. It's an advance trac model.
