Got an early A4LD not getting into OD and other problems. Getting ready to rebuild it.
When the OD was working, when I would drive on the freeway it seemed OK, but when I would climb a grade like a steep overpass it would seem to get another gear (TC locking up I guess), and as I would approach the top and lighten up on the gas, it would seem to unlock, RPMs jump back up.
Seems to me that this is the opposite of the way it should work. As long as I'm gonna drop the trans. I would like to take care of everything it needs.
Any ideas as to what is going on here? What I need to check, change, kick or whatever?
