TCS Baumann Engineering

I like to start a thread to cover the Baumann Engineering TCS,(Transmission Control System).

I know there are a few of us out there who own a TCS unit. I just ordered one and was hoping to get some tips from folks who are ahead of me on the install.

I also thought it might be a good idea to post "program" setting. This way we could learn from each others experiences with the Unit. And I can get a clue on where to get started with my settings.

Baumann Engineering,(BE) will be offering an upgrade to existing TCS owners soon. Expect the upgrade to cost about $50. According to Greg at BE they are putting more memory in the TCS. BE is also re-writing the software to accommodate new controls. If I understood Greg correctly you will have more control over line pressure between gears. The new unit will also be able to log data.

Supports Ford AOD-E, 4R70W and E4OD Transmissions, with support for additional units available in the future. this is from there site did not know it supported any other units yet. i have owned one of there units for a very long time.

The Baumann TCS is a good unit. It can turn a stock 4R70W in to a whole nother transmission.

The only bad thing is the price....... $400 is a little scary... but well worth it.

Wiring the TCS is easy. Three wires for the Trottle position sensor, give it power and a ground, and switch for your program select and your set. The Baumann website has some wiring diagrams.

The Baumann TCS is great when installing a 4R70W in to a car that does not have a computer system capable of handling an electronically controlled transmission.

The TCS allows you to set your own shift points electronically.
