You’re saying a Texas Instruments device is installed in EVERY car?

Unclear so I found this: What is telematics? Everything you need to know Starts with a gps in the vehicle. Pretty sure I don't have one (unless my cell phone is in the truck with me). But I bet lots of newer cars have GPS built in. Not sure what year for what vehicles it started, however. OnStar in GMs has been around for a while. Or you could install the system described at the site linked.

I just wanted to put it out there, I think the chips they are having trouble with are These not being made fast Enough to implement full control of every car being made and they State Toyotas first( They State). I cant even get my Fob to work even after Reading 20 forums, Can you imagine the controlled fake repairs they can get away with. The russian started, FORScan can read and change module settings now and thay giving it away. All this new/ish tech is designed under the Infotainment to your Vehicle, Embedded in your new cars and to an extent into older/ish cars too. Thats why they are trying hard to rid old cars, if not mechanically, Electronically. We Re going to have a Scarry new world soon

No, we won’t. There’s not a bogeyman in every shadow. If you’re this paranoid, get an old mechanical diesel. Only voltage need is for the starter.

The chip shortage isn’t for this module. The chips go into just about everything.

You sound like a Dealer, Wheres The Diagnoses fee of a couple of hundred to say Yep we think its that, We Cant do that, We need new Ones, They Are Discontinued and we dont work on that old of car. Are system is proprietary. So take your car to the junk yard with all those lifetime parts and scrap it. Yea all sweet hearts just.

Find a better non-dealer mechanic. I’ve never had to scrap a car because it couldn’t be fixed. If you’re afraid of newer cars, buy an old tech restored one, and fill it full of whatever lifetime parts you want.

It’s not really a hard issue. People aren’t afraid of being tracked as much anymore. It’s part of life an convenience. If people really fear being tracked they better not have cell phones.
