What is different between the 95-97 and 98-99 Ex's?

Their engines are a bit diff HP rating
The tail lights change
what else changes?
Sorry for the dumb question but the options for a truck are getting annoying.

another...............in '98 the liscense plate moved to the hatch from the bumper.

in '99, they offered the cool front bumper with the round fogs

there were some changes underneath, but not sure about them

Also, the audio options changed and the main amp 98+ is built into the HU; only an external amp with the woofer.

The front torsion bars on 98+ are solid (as opposed to hollow ones used on >98).
The third brake light was changed from the long skinny one to a shorter one in either 97 or 98. The long skinny ones use some special flourescent type bulb and are $400+ to replace. The shorter ones use regular bulbs.
In either 97 or 98 they put a hump on the floor under the rear seat. Not sure why, but it would have been a great place to mount an amp or other stuff.

So besides the licence plate and the tail lights, there isnt too many exterior differences is there? They dont change body panels slightly becuase one is like 2 inches shorter or taller or anything stupid like that right?

The rear hatch and rear quarterpanels are different. Of course the bumpers and flares also. Taillights and 3rd brakelight. I think that's about it as far as bodywork.

The 98-up seem to ride a bit better than my 95. 95's also have ODB-I and 96 and up have ODB-II. So my X doesn't throw a hissyfit if you decide to mess with the engine.

Just to correct my post: I meant hollow anti-sway bars, not torsion bars.

OBD-I???
OBD-!!???

sorry im kinda dumb

OBD1: 95-, OBDII (2): 96+
One name for the engine control and emissions computer. 96+ has the newer system with more computer control.

You guys forgot to mention the grille upfront. The 95-97 was silver without a screen and the 98+ had a darker color with a screen background. They also installed a wet type rear wiper. They also installed (as an option) the puddle lamps on the outside review mirrors. The rear bumper also changed it is more curvy. The badging is also different and the most important thing i think is the rear window tint is much darker.
