Tell me if you think the alignment shop is full of it

What grade bolt to replace the rivets?

Also, I don't like that I have to buy another alignment for them to put the shims in. You'd think for $185 they'd throw the alignment in for free SINCE IT'S ALREADY ON THE ALIGNMENT RACK! :frustrate: Ahem...Sorry for that... Anyways -I'm shopping around tomorrow.

I had my pass side radius arm bushing replaced about 3 years ago (should have done both then). Took it back a few weeks ago because I heard the telltale banging under the floorboard. I thought needed that drivers side now -> Wrong.... Seems pass side had started to "melt"... I ended up getting both done for 225..
My Ex was running hot last spring and also took long trip on hottest week of east coast. I think maybe Cat got real hot and effected bushing. I have no reason to distrust my mech. They work on all 3 of my cars and have Always stood behind thier work to my 100% satisfaction.

The bolts will need to be grade 8 or better.

First class shop did my Ranger recently....

A super local shop did my Ranger recently after I put on the F150 coil buckets; with new alignment bushings it was only $138, and they referred me to a collision shop to re-un-bend my frame (which hadn't been correctly un-bent by another shop). They also do all the retail sales for Hellwig, to give you an idea of their quality. $189 + aligment is a "screw the customer" price.

As for RA bushings, that same collision 2 yrs ago resulted in me paying for new bushings so the insurance company's collision repair shop could get it aligned (poorly as it turned out, and of course that shop didn't tell me my frame was still seriously bent). Since the alignment was OK before I got hit, I was skeptical but wanted my truck back. The poor slobs didn't know the come-along trick to pull the axle forward and did me the favor of chisling off the bracket for me. They put in grade 5 bolts, however, so I replaced those. $257 out of my pocket as I recall.

So, anything more than that you should shop around. Get a referral from a local 4x4 store maybe; I already knew about the shop I used, but the local 4x4 guys use them for all their lifted suspension alignments as well (like I said, a SUPER good shop).

Regards,
Brian in CA
