Its two metal tubes attached to the engine. each end has a rubber hose going to two inlets on the firewall and then run down and meet up at the bottom front of the engine. Reason i ask is the metal pipe has rusted through( noticed during engine removal) and i can not find this part anywhere on the internet..

Heater tubes. The heater core is behind the firewall.

^ Bingo.

Yeah i know it goes to the heater core. its just the metal tube that i am looking for. I can not find it anywhere!

i guess my main question is. Since i can not find that metal bracket with the metal pipes on it, can i bypass that and just put longer hoses?

Most autoparts stores sell temp rated heater hose. As long as it is routed appropriately and doesn't have any kinks or is laying against any super hot engine component, I think you should be ok. I may be missing something but I don't see a problem doing that,

Hoses are fine. Many vehicles don't have any metal pipes at all in the heating system. Just watch where you run them. As long as you avoid the exhaust piping you should be ok.

Maybe the real question is, "Why did Ford use metal pipes?"

Alright cool, thx for the help guys!
