What are some things to look for to tell if my tranny is about to go out?
Here is what I have been experiencing.
**At stop light in D it sometimes lunges forward -or- makes a soft grinding noise while stopped.
Bad torque converter?/
What does a new one cost? Can I do it myself?
**Occasionally right before shifting it revvs a bit high then shifts into higher gear.
These are the two major things. I am just not sure whether to sell it before the tranny takes a crap.
If it is just the torque converter I can probably handle that repair but definately not the cost of a new tranny.
Anything will help. Please.
