I just picked up a 1994 Explorer XLT for my daughter (new driver). and took it on a little road trip. There are 2 things that I noticed, not big problems but would like some input on them.

1. The speedo jumps at about 5 MPH increments if I set the cruise control at what I believe is 65 it occasionally jumps to 70 and then at times it will move to 70 MPH and stay there for a while. Does this vintage have a speedometer cable or is it and Electronic speedometers.

2. The heater works fine, plenty of heat. The temp Gauge does not move much beyond the low end of the gauge. Once the weather warms up I will flush out the cooling system to see if there is something in there that might be hampering the temp sending unit.

Any input on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.
