I am facing a weird problem with my ford explorer 2011 base 4wd

When i insert the key and start the car , everything works fine but if i shut down the engine and try to start the engine without removing the key then sometimes Temp gauge wont work or i get low oil pressure warning.

But if i remove the key and re insert it again and start the engine , there is no problem. I only face this problem when i try to restart a enging without removing the key.

Please I want to know, is it a problem or its a normal thing?

Hmmm, strange. Dod you check the oil to see if oil level is ok.

I just bought this car from dealer 4 days ago, and tomorrow i will take it back to dealer to check the problem.

I have 2011 limited and after a 250 trip, I turned off engine at rest stop, when I restarted it and it was idling, I too got low oil pressure warning. I checked oil level and it was good.
this only happened one time! Crazy

Take it to the dealer, all vehicles have so many electronics in them, it could be a simple connection issue.

For what it is worth I read this forum for months before ordering in September. Most issues (those that were not isolated incidents) seemed to have been dealt with by Ford. MFT I had heard was receiving a major fix in early 2012 (subsequently proven to be correct).

So .... you can look at it as cup half full, or half empty, but remember people posting here will often be posting about issues - issues that are often quite isolated.

Enjoy your new Ex ..... and know you have a place to come and people like Cory to assist, if there are issues.

Welcome to the boards, engineer99. I’m available to help by sending this to the Customer Service Manager in your area. So I can do that, please send a PM with your contact info, VIN, mileage, and dealer name/state.

Thanks for the recommendation, calb! :)
