Hey peeps,
My wife & I have just bought our second Explorer (graduated from an '02 to a '10) We bought this "program car" from the dealer with 4K miles on it. It currently has just rolled 10K & we've had it about 4 months. We have just recently started hearing a wind noise coming from the mirrors at 50+ mph. It has been gradually getting worse....& worse....started from driver side & now does it on both sides...You can fold the mirrors in & it quits...but as soon as you fold them back out they start again.
The noise sounds like a high pitch "ringing" sound. The faster you go the worse it gets so interstate trips are out of the question until we can get it fixed. It is currently at our local Ford dealership as they try, for the 2nd time, to figure it out. They are clueless as we are....Can anybody please help?
They have mentioned trying to replace the chrome mirror covers...which is fine with us since it is under warranty. I'm just not sure how the covers could make this noise... What do yall think?
