Textured hood on 2017 PIU

Dumb question, but what does PIU stand for?

The textured hood is coated in something similar (not exactly the same) as Rhino-Hide pickup bed material. It is for command vehicles so they can put stuff on it, use it as a desk/table, etc. without destroying the paint. I was there when they had a hood off to work in the engine bay. Here are a couple of pics of one of the command PIU hoods.

Do you know what product they are using on the hood?

Aren't those tires on backwards??

I'll probably get some pics next time I wash it. :)

It would definitely take a bit more effort to prep the hood for a glossy repaint, but it is a pretty small surface. I'd considered Plastidipping it with one of the full-car kits some folks sell, but that's a lot more effort and expense.

Here's what the hood looks like with the bedliner coating on the hood. It doesn't stand out too much, but is definitely noticeably less shiny.
