Hi all,
David here in Santa Barbara, CA.
Just picked up a used 93 white XLT 4.0 4x4 Explorer with Auto trans.
Found this forum because I am looking to repair several problems. I have not researched on the forum long enough to know if my answers are here or not, but my guess is they are.
Right front window inoperative, can hear the motor, so I am guessing a regulator.
Rear Wiper inoperative, If I manually move it to the parked position, it wants to run all the time, If I move it to the far left position, it shuts off. This is where it sits for now.
A/C does not blow cold.

I look forward to searching for solutions to these concerns and participating in the forum.

Hey Im chris a member from lompoc just north of you, I also have a white first generation if you really need some help or anything its not too far. check all the lines of the ac make sure the system is intact check if the fittings have been swapped to r34 on the system and if all looks good maybe try and charge it make sure you get one with ac leak stopper some also have uv dyes so you can find any leaks with a special uv light. Make sure you thouroughly inspect the system because its expensive ive gone through a couple over the past years. maybe theirs a tiny bit of refrigerant still in the system implicating it is sealed I would check it by pressing on the schrader valve carefully and seeing if any air comes out if so good if not you can test it by seeing if it will hold light vacuum pressure.

91 sploder mentioned r34 fitting swap. My guess, no since low pressure is a screw on fitting. I got the compressor to come on by jumping the relay. No cold air, but compressor did not sound destroyed either. So I guess next is to figure out about fitting conversions

Many thanks for the help offer!, I may take you up on it if you happen to have a vacuum pump I can use when I do the conversion. The conversion does not sound too difficult as long as I follow the steps a replace the necessary parts. I am going to slowly accumulate the parts needed. Luckily the weather is turning a little colder now, so I have some time to work on getting everything together.
