This forum has saved me some serious cash in the past few days. I have narrowed down my 4x4 problem down to the auto hubs, so I'm going to order the manual kit from Summit Racing. I used Sea Foam in the motor, and some of the spark knock has gone away. I also found my trans modulator was sucking fluid into the motor, so I fixed that this morning using your directions (accessing thru the floor plate). Next I need to fix the pass side trailing arm bushings.
My 94 XLT has 122,000 miles on it. Any other things I should look for?
I replaced my EGr valve today too. It was throwing a code that indicated it was bad. But, my Check Engine light is still on. I unplugged the battery for a few minutes, should I have let it sit longer? It's still a little sluggish on acceleration too. It almost feels like it surges sometimes.
You guys are a real life-saver. Thanks!

Welcome to this forum! Now you are knowledgeable enough to help others out in these matters from your experience. Read the code to see what it is trying to tell you. Disconnecting the battery will clear the code, but it will come back again unless the problem is fixed. You have an EEC-IV computer. Check my thread on EEC-IV codes.

If you are going to keep the Exp and you do your own work, invest in an OBDI/EECIV code reader. They are only about $30. Then you can read the codes yourself and you can reset them with the reader without disconnecting the battery and hosing your radio stations.

I may just do that. Thanks for the tip.
