Hey everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this site who has helped me with my Explorer. Unfortunately, I have parted with my Explorer. It needed $2,500 of work that included upper and lower ball joints, hoses, and fixing an oil leak that required removing the engine. This was all on top of the $2,000 we had already put in it. My parents decided that with nearly 130,000 miles it probably wouldn't last me through college, and just barely til the end of high school. We traded it in last week for an almost loaded, brand new 2011 Ford Escape XLT in Steel Blue Metallic. We paid $3,800 for my Ex last May and the dealer gave us $2,150 for the trade. I'll miss my Explorer but my new Escape gets nearly twice the gas mileage and has all the same things I liked about my Explorer plus more! If anyone is ever in the Augusta, Georgia area looking for a new Ford, go to Bobby Jones Ford-Lincoln. It was a great experience dealing with them. They are a huge volume dealer and therefore were able to sell us the Escape for $25 over invoice!!! Sorry this was so long, but again, thanks to everyone on this site.
