Hey Guys, I just picked up my Explorer used, and I notice that the 4x4, and the 4x4 Lo lights are flashing. I was reading through all the documents that the previous owner had, and I notice that they have had the same problem before, and that Ford had cleaned/replcaced the 4x4 sensor. But... The problem is back. According to some fax from a Ford Dealer, the problem is caused by oxidization on the sensor which results in an incorrect reading. Well I don't even know where to start, any ideas ? What have you guys done ? Thanks in advance...

Sounds like they cleaned the speed sensor(s). There are two of them on the T/F case. Like magnets that plug into the case. Check and make sure the wires didn't come loose. Can try cleaning again. You can also try disconnecting the battery for ~30 minutes to reset the computer and see if the lights come back on.

Thanks for the reply...

Thanks for gettting back to me, I'm going to try disconnecting the battery and resetting the computer, anyone else have any other ideas, just in case this doesn't work ?
