I decided today to hold off on getting my exhaust redone. The funny thing is, I got a wicked nice gas grill instead! Now at the ripe old age of 23 I find myself doing stuff like that. Ill still get the exhaust, but it struck my as odd today that I reached a point where cooking great steaks is as important as moding my truck. Oh well just dont turn me into an outcast guys!:)

ha, i just realized that, thanks to some jerk in the chatroom, that i should sell my truck...... and ride my goped forever!

Don't feel too bad.....I'm 41 and got rid of my "midlife" crisis Mustang for this Explorer! I had tons of money in the car...basically a street/drag terror in the low 12s on motor only, but just could not take it any longer. No ac, pwr steering, rode like a truck...ha, ha... I just needed something more practical. The 93 octane and 5 mile per gallon did not help either! Now I can haul stuff, including the kids and all their friends, my son's and my radio control airplanes, fishing gear, etc. Much more practical...just a LOT slower!!! The thing is, I just started modding the truck like old times and don't miss the stang as much.
I put so much money and time into the stang..I did not realize just how much of the rest of life I was missing...I am more balanced now.
Good luck with your parts and grill. A good steak is always a good thing........................
PS: My new Gibson exhaust is sounding great!

Man.. I can't wait until I have a mid-life crisis. A mustang would be sweet (in addition to an X, of course). What year was yours? :D

Well its good to hear Im not alone lol. Thanks and yes my steaks were damn good.I do think that I want drop off on moding the truck, but maybe it wont be the only place I spend money.

Hit the mid-life crisis...

Got the ex and building it up daily

Got a '94 stang - trying to avoid building it up (boy it's hard not to)

Got a 351W I have no clue what to do with

Got a wife and kids - I think ;)

It seems priorities go full-circle - like once every 7-10 years!

I ditched the gas grill a while back, and now grill with mesquite charcoal. More trouble than gas, but the steaks and burgers sure taste good.:p

Actually, the weather has to warm up before I can grill OR work on the X. Temp was 0 deg the other night with wind chill of -15 deg. I dream of warm Summer Saturday mornings, when I can get under the hood of the X and change plugs, tint the windows, and install a cat-back.....

Tried all the sensible stuff around the house, but then starting hanging out with car club people. Now, it seems like I am always looking for something new to do to the x. The bug bit me, bit me bad.

I sold my motorcycle for a down payment on a swimming pool... Am I getting old or what!

Section 525...my stang was a 93 GT Vert that I bought in 1997 with 13,000 total miles. It was a drag strip type car. I got thrown off many a track because I never put a roll bar in!!! I just worked on the thing constantly...but the street manners got worse and worse as it got faster.
I should have kept it but the dealer selling my Explorer offered too good a deal. The finance guy actually kept the stang for himself...he already had a Camaro and just wanted the stang to be a kind of opposing collection. He only drives it once a month or so.
I like Rick's idea about the pool. We have had 2 estimates for pools and are getting close!!!
I know...41 is not really deep "midlife" time, but I messed up my back pretty bad while an Air Force pilot, lost my flying duties, and got retired out to pasture. I have to be very careful how I use my back...so I FEEL old!!! The Explorer helps me get around with the family, but also mod a little. O'h well......margaritas at the poolside???!!!??!!?

I had one of the fastest 10" street tire emmisions legal mustangs in the midwest and I sold it for 9k for my first 94XLT. Now that I am in the middle of my Midlife crisis, I just bought a 21' boat and have two watercraft. I also love to grill out!!
